Image Information

When you upload an image on this Wikia, please provide the necessary information on the file's page by creating different sections:

  • Description – Level 2 heading (two '=' signs). Give a brief explanation of what the image depicts, followed by the source (ex. the chapter number).
  • Licensing – Level 2 heading. Please provide the right license for each image using image license templates. See below for additional guidelines.

Image Categories

All images should be added to a category. You can do so manually or by using {{Image of}}. Images are categorized according to chapter and characters visible in the image. See template documentation for further guidelines.

You can also add images to categories to call the attention of administrators. Use {{LQ}} if the file is of poor quality. Use {{Poor filename}} if the file needs to be renamed. Use {{Delete}} to request the deletion of a file.

Licensing Guidelines

Important types of images include:

  • Own work: You own all rights to the image, usually meaning that you created it entirely yourself. In case of a photograph or screenshot, you must also own the copyright for all copyright-protected items (e.g. statue or app) that appear in it.
  • Public domain: You can prove that the image is in the public domain, i.e. free of all copyrights.
  • Fair use/non-free: You believe that the image meets the special conditions for non-free content, which exceptionally allow the use of unlicensed material, and you can provide an explicit non-free use rationale explaining why and how you intend to use it.
  • Freely licensed: You can prove that the copyright holder has released the image under an acceptable free license. Note that images that are licensed for use only on Wikipedia, or only for non-commercial or educational use, or under a license that doesn't allow for the creation of modified/derived works, are unsuitable. Important note: just because you did not have to pay money for the image does not mean that it is "free content" or acceptable for use on Wikipedia. The vast majority of images on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used here – even if there is not a copyright notice, it is automatically copyrighted from the moment of creation. When in doubt, do not upload copyrighted images.

If you aren't sure what licensing template to use, follow these guidelines.

  • Fair Use: Almost every image on this wiki is copyrighted and used under fair use. The majority of image copyrights on this Wikia are held by Mokumokuren or Kadokawa Corporation. If the image comes from the manga, a cover, or any other merchandises, then use the template {{Fairuse}} in the "Licensing" section.
  • Own work: If you are the photographer or author and are uploading your own original image, use {{Self}}.
  • If the image is from Wikipedia or another Wikia, use {{From Wikimedia}}.
  • If you don't know the copyright status of an image, use {{Nolicense}}. Note that if the licensing information is not added within 24 hours, the image will be deleted without warning.

Edit Guidelines

Image Overloading

Adding too many images to a single area of text can disrupt readability or cause layering issues. To avoid this problem, you can Preview all edits using the "Preview" option next to the button "Save page".
If there are any formatting issues caused by Image Overload, you should instead create a Gallery section at the bottom of the page above the References section. Alternatively, you can use {{-}}. Insert this template at the end of a line. It creates a gap in the code, and any further code will not conflict with the text preceding the template. Be aware that if you use {{-}} with too many images close together, there might still be layout misalignment. Be sure to use the "Preview" feature before saving any edits.

Replacing Images

Any image on a page can be replaced by uploading a new image with the same name. Editors do not need permission or explanation to replace an image. However, what you consider a better image may not be considered a better image by other editors. You should not replace an image with one of lower quality. If a protected image is in need of replacement, ask if it should be replaced on the talk page.

Image Warring

This is when editors are constantly changing images on a page from one version to another. In the event of constant reverting between two revisions of the same image, the page will be temporarily locked and reverted to its original version until a final decision is made. The most useful or related image to its intended use will be chosen. Or, if neither image is satisfactory, both images may be rejected for another image.
To avoid image warring, editors should instead discuss the change on the file's talk page. Reach out to an administrator if you'd like help moderating the discussion.

Duplicate Images

If the same image is uploaded two or more times under a different name, then all versions of this image except for the first will be deleted.
