Takeda Hajime ( (たけ) () (はじめ) , Takeda Hajime?) is one of the Characters in The Summer Hikaru Died, written and illustrated by Mokumokuren.

Overview[]

One of Kubitachi's three village leaders. He's concerned about the state of the village and the Indou family ritual.

Appearance[]

Hajime is a middle-aged man of large stature. He has short hair, a thick mustache, and a square jaw. He typically wears a polo shirt and long pants.

Personality[]

Hajime is a straight-forward, bold individual. He often forcefully states his opinion on situations[2] and freely expresses agitation with a situation or person.[3][4] He is very fearful and protective of the village's wellbeing,[5] which makes him extremely concerned with Something's descent from the mountains.

Etymology[]

  • The kanji of his surname, Takeda, are "warrior" (武 take) and "rice field" (田 da).
  • The kanji of his given name, Hajime, is "one" (一 hajime).
