Tadokoro Yuuki (田 (た) 所 (どころ) 結 (ゆう) 希 (き) , Tadokoro Yūki?)[5] is one of the Characters in The Summer Hikaru Died, written and illustrated by Mokumokuren.

Overview[]

A part of Yoshiki and Hikaru's friend group. Asako has been her closest friend since childhood.

Appearance[]

Yuuki is a petite teenage girl. She has straight black hair that reaches her upper chest. She wears it tied into two low pigtails, with straight-cut bangs and two pink hair clips on the left side of her head. Her eyebrows are short and thick. She is typically seen in her school uniform, which consists of a black skirt and a white seifuku-style shirt. She wears it with tall white socks and light purple sneakers.

Personality[]

Yuuki is somewhat quiet, and when she does speak, she often does so monotonously. Yuuki, compared to her friends, is more reserved in her personality and mannerisms. She is somewhat serious and often corrects immature behavior, making her prone to bickering particularly with Maki.[6] However, she is still a caring and affectionate friend – for example, she learned to braid to help with Asako's hair problems[1] or made sure to check on Asako who seemed upset instead of walking home with Maki.[citation needed]

She also has a habit of procrastinating schoolwork.[7]

History[]

Yuuki lives in Kibogayama.[8] Since their parents are friends, Yuuki and Yamagishi Asako have been best friends since childhood. They went to different elementary schools but the same middle school.[9]

Etymology[]

  • Her surname, Tadokoro, means "farmland". Individually, the kanji are "rice field" (田 ta) and "place, extent" (所 tokoro).
  • The kanji of her given name, Yuuki, are "tie, bind" (結 yū) and "hope" (希 ki).

Trivia[]

  • Out of her friend group, she's always the last to complete her summer assignments.[10]
