Old Man Takeda ( (たけ) () のじいさん, Takeda no jii-san?) is one of the Characters in The Summer Hikaru Died, written and illustrated by Mokumokuren.

Overview[]

An elederly man who lived in Kubitachi. He believed he was going to die as a result of the impurities in the village.

Appearance[]

Old Man Takeda was an older man of average stature. He had thin, grayed hair and was balding at the center of his head. He wore a plain, dark-colored yukata.

Personality[]

Old Man Takeda was very blunt. He was fearful of impurity and appeared to blame or resent the Indou family for their past sins.[1]

Etymology[]

  • The kanji of his surname, Takeda, are "warrior" (武 take) and "rice field" (田 da).
