Crowly (カー太郎,Kaatarou?) was a pet bird that HikaruandYoshiki took care of together when they were young. When Crowly passed away, they blamed each other and fought over whose fault it was.
Hara (ハラ,Hara?) is a homeroom teacher at Kibogayama High. Among the students, he is known for often pursing his lips[1] and tripping in the corridor.[2] When talking about him, students call him Hara-sen (ハラセン,Hara-sen?).
Indou Yuki (忌堂雪,Indō Yuki?) is the parent of Indou Hikaru. She was also the wife of Indou Kouhei (now widowed). She is unaware of the Indou family ritual.[citation needed]

Kameyama
Old Man Kameyama (亀山おじさん,Kameyama oji-san?) is a resident of Kubitachi whose family moved from Kibogayama. He runs a takoyaki stand with Masa and Tecchan for the town's yearly summer festival.
Masa (マサ,Masa?) is a resident of Kubitachi. He runs a takoyaki stand with Kameyama and Tecchan for the town's yearly summer festival. He is likely related to Kameyama, as they share a religion is that is uncommon to Kubitachi.[4]
Mikasa Kazumi (三笠和美,Mikasa Kazumi?) is a resident of Kubitachi and the wife of Mikasa Tetsu.[5] She helps fix Kaoru's yukata for the summer festival.[6]
Old Man and Old Lady Nishidaya (西田屋,Nishidaya no Jii-san to Baa-san?) were two residents of Kubitachi. They hanged themselves together in their family home.
Saitou (斎藤,Saitō?) is a girl in Class B that Indou Hikaru liked because she looks like Lin Xiang from Master x Master.[7] She is part of the track and field team. Hikaru was going to try talking to her, but he backed away when he heard her laugh and say "No one skips club activities." (Hikaru frequently skipped club.)[8]
Takeshita (竹下,Takeshita?) is a student in class 4 at Kibogayama High who is said to resemble the actor Ryoma Takeuchi. He challenged Asako to an arm wrestling match and lost.[9] Girls call him good-looking. He's a bit of an idiot, but they don't know because he has almost no female friends.[8]
Tezuka (手塚,Tezuka?) is a teacher at Kibogayama High. From the sweatsuit and balls in her hands, it can be assumed she teaches physical education. She informs Yoshiki about the history of religion in Kubitachi.
Yoshinaga (吉永,Yoshinaga?) is a teacher at Kibogayama High. He steps in and gets injured trying to remove a man who was running nude in the school courtyard.
Yurie (ゆりえ,Yurie?) is the childhood friend of Tsujinaka Kaoru. She moved away while they were in elementary school, causing Kaoru lost motivation to go to school.[11]
Yuusuke (雄介,Yūsuke?) is a resident of Kubitachi and the son of Yasaburou. He was expected to be the next head of his family, but was unable to, causing fights within the family. Hikaru had been told it was because Yuusuke had fallen ill, but in actuality, the family was upset that Yuusuke is homosexual.
Class D Student is a girl who developed a crush on Indou Hikaru after he lent her his raincoat. She didn't notice the change and ends up confessing her feelings to "Hikaru" instead.
Kurebayashi Rie's Husband passed away many years ago. He came back from the dead as an impurity, but hurt their son, Iori, leaving him with an irreparable scar.
Maki's Great-Grandfather was an ancestor of Maki Yuuta. He was a hunter who enshrined a serow he freed from his trap. The serow became a guardian deity for the Maki family, and protected Yuuta from a dangerous impurity in the forest.[13]
Nishidaya's Daughter is a worker at Supermarket Nozomi, where she bombarded Yoshiki with questions when he met her at the till. She later finds Old Man and Old Lady Nishidaya after they hanged themselves in their home.[14]
Runa's Mother is the parent of the little girl called Runa. They attended the Ashidori Houko Festival together. She later witnessed "Hikaru"'s influence on her daughter, and the damage it caused. She was deeply concerned for her daughter's life, and is relieved when she hears that she will pull through.
Yoshiki's Grandfather is the grandfather of Tsujinaka Yoshiki and Tsujinaka Kaoru, and the father of Tsujinaka Toshinori. He was always proud of the Tsujinaka's protection of the woods surrounding Kubitachi. He hurried Yoshiki to get engaged, so he can support his father with his work as a lumberjack.
