Matsuura ( (まつ) (うら) , Matsuura?) is one of the Characters in The Summer Hikaru Died, written and illustrated by Mokumokuren.

Overview[]

The daughter of the late Old Lady Matsuura. In her childhood she was friends with Takeda Hajime, Mikasa Tetsu, and Matsushima Yoshihiko. She's now a librarian working in Kibogayama.

Personality[]

Matsuura has a calm, reserved personality. When she encounters Yoshiki and "Hikaru" in the library, she is very forthcoming and willing to help them. Even going as far as talking about her recently deceased mother and her childhood. When she mentions her poor relationship with her mother, she is visibly saddend while lamenting that she only realized it, when it was already too late.[1]

Appearance[]

Matsuura is a middle-aged woman of average height and build. She wears glasses and has dark, straight hair that reaches her upper back.

History[]

She is a childhood friend of Takeda Hajime, Mikasa Tetsu, and Matsushima Yoshihiko.[1]

Etymology[]

  • The kanji of her surname, Matsuura, are "pine tree" (松 matsu) and "bay, creek" (浦 ura).
