Appearance[]
The Hunting Dog is a dark, mostly humanoid figure. It is almost entirely decapitated - the head floats a distance away from is body, attached to the neck only by a shadowy thread. Its head has a skull-like appearance, with empty eye sockets and thin wisps of hair. Its movements are accompanied by the sound of a bell chiming.[1]
Abilities[]
The Hunting Dog is attracted to beings like Nounuki-sama, and will seek it out even over the course of days.[2] It can then transfer the memories it gained during its search back to Tanaka by running through his body.[3]
It is rather powerful, as it could successfully fight back against "Hikaru" trying to consume it, although at this point in time "Hikaru" had weakened himself.[4][1]
Summoning[]
Tanaka summons the Hunting Dog by first digging up the old grave of a traveling monk who was forcibly sacrificed to Nounuki-sama by the Indou family.[5] Tanaka then cuts into his hand and places a small bell onto the wound, squeezing it in his palm so that it is soaked in blood. He finishes by dropping the bell onto the upturned grave.[2]
