The Summer Hikaru Died Wiki

A Gold Silkworm ( (きん) (さん) () , Kin sanko?, Chinese: 金蠶, jincan) is a type of poison that is highly desirable to some impurities.

Description[]

Gold Silkworms are a type of Gu ( () , Ko?, Chinese: 蛊, gu), which is associated with cultures of southern China, dating back as far as 14th-century BCE.

It is a method of creating strong poison by sealing several venomous creatures inside a closed container. The creatures would then devour one another, allegedly concentrating their toxins into the final remaining survivor. The survivor would then be fed to larvae. The last surviving larva, the Gold Silkworm, would contain a complex, powerful poison.[2]

Because some impurities have a strong liking for Gold Silkworms, humans can use them to negotiate a trade with an impurity.[1]
