This is the Bonus Chapter for Volume 2 of The Summer Hikaru Died manga series, written and illustrated by Mokumokuren.
Synopsis[]
A girl from class D has confessed her feelings to... "Hikaru"? After finding out and talking to him about it, Yoshiki suggests he should talk to the girl again, but properly apologize to her this time and turn her down. At first, it's rather difficult for "Hikaru" to comprehend the girl's actions and what it means to really like someone. He then wonders if he has a person that he really likes, too...
Plot[]
"Hikaru" watches a video on his phone about the mating season of peacocks. He expresses to Yoshiki his amazement at living creatures' ability to procreate. This reminds him that a girl from Class D had confessed to him recently. Yoshiki asked how he answered her, but "Hikaru" appeared confused. A flashback reveals that when the girl said she liked him, "Hikaru" simply asked her why. She explained that Hikaru had once given her his raincoat when it was raining, and she had liked him ever since. "Hikaru" thanked her.
Yoshiki explains that the girl was asking him out on a date, and says that "Hikaru" needs to give her a proper apology. He does so the next day, telling her upfront that he can't go out with her and that he doesn't really get this stuff. She says it's okay and comments that he's a bit weird, but not in a bad way.
"Hikaru" thinks to himself that he might love Yoshiki, and wonders whether he likes Yoshiki the same way this girl likes him.
