I see where you're coming from. Yoshiki reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age too, just constantly carrying that cramped, lonely feeling when you know who you are and know that people won't accept it.

I don't think you're reading too far into it. the author's actually said before that the fear of not being "normal" is one of the key aspects of the work. a lot of us in the queer community have been made to feel that fear and then have to work through it, you're not alone in that. it's why the story resonates so strongly with us.
